Here below are information about the affects of Covid 19 restrictions on the opening time for swimming pools.

Swimming pools are allowed to admint the maximum number of people from the 12. February 2022

Swimming pools are now allowed to admit 50% of what the operating license permits. This is for three weeks or until 2. February

Swimming pools are now allowed to admit 100% of what the operating license permits.

From the 25th of July 2021 swimming pools will be allowed to admit 75% of what the operating license permits. Children born in 2015 and later are not counted. These rules are valid until the 13th of August 2021

From the 25. May 2021 swimming pools are allowed to admit the maximum number of people according to their operating license.

From the 25th of March swimming pools will be closed. It will be decided within 3 weeks when pools will reopen.

From the 24th of february 2021 swimming pools will be allowed to admint 75% of what the operating license permits. These rules will be valid until the middle of March.

From the 10th of December 2020 swimming pools will be allowed to reopen. There will be limitations to the number of guest that are allowed. The maximum number will be 50% of what the operating license permits. These rules are valid until the 12th of January 2021.

From the 31st of October all swimming pools in Iceland will be closed for 2 – 3 weeks.

From the 7th of October all swimming pools in the Reykjavík area will be closed. For other swimming pools there are public gathering limitations in effect and the max is 100 persons. In larger swimming pools it will be possible to admit up to 50% of the number of guests that the operating license allows, while at the same time people need to follow the 2 meter rule.

From the 5th of October swimming pools are allowed to admit up to 50% of the number of guests that their operating license allows. There is also still a 1 meter rule. Gym are closed.
