Vopnafjörður – Selárdalur

The swimming pool Selárlaug is about 3,5 km from highway no 85 on the way to Bakkafjörður and 12 km from the village Vopnafjörður.  The pool is located on the riverbank where the river goes through a small canyon. Next to the pool is a hot spring and the water from the hot spring used to be used in the pool. Now it is used to heat up the water in the pool. The area is well know for the beautiful location.

Next to the pool is a cold tub.

There are facilities for the disabled as well as an area to sunbathe (when the weather permits). There is also a spacious hot tub and a children´s pool.
