Búðardalur swimming pool

In the heart of Búðardalur you will find a new and impressive sports center where you can have a good time, whether the goal is relaxation, exercise or play.

The center has a 25-meter outdoor pool, hot tubs, a wading pool, a sauna and a cold tub. The view from the pool out to Hvammsfjörður is unique, making the center a perfect place to relax for those who want to enjoy themselves.
The water in the pool comes from a borehole in Reykjadalur in Dalar and the temperature of the pool fluctuates from 28 to 30°C while the hot tubs maintain a comfortable temperature between 38 and 40°C and the wading pool around 35°C.
It is also possible to purchase access to a well-equipped gym, for those who want to exercise in a more comfortable setting or those who do not want to miss a workout while traveling around the country. There are also regular and varied exercises in the gym organized by sports clubs and other groups, for residents of all ages.

The sports center was opened on February 28, 2026. Its location is extremely convenient – ​​all major services are within walking distance, whether it is a shop, restaurants, a campsite or a workshop.
