Skeidalaug was designed by architect Jes Einar Þorsteinsson and was built in the years 1971-1975. The pool was put into use on November 15, 1975 and is located in Brautarholt in the Skeiða- and Gnúpverjahreppi district by highway no. 30. The pool is 16.68 meters long and 8.00 meters wide. Originally, the pool only had one hot tub and a water sauna. In 2023-2024, the building was renovated and the pool was improved. The wall of the building was repaired, an infrared sauna was added, water steam was changed to dry steam, an indoor cold tub was added and two new large hot tubs, one with a massage.
Skeidalaug has become a wellness pool that is good to come and relax. The pool is open every day of the week from 16:00-22:00.
